If you desire to feel the Lords presence in your life, you must seek him out each day.  A relationship with the Lord is just like any other relationship.  You have to care enough about Him to let him know you love Him if you really expect to feel His love coming right back to you.  When you reach out to Him each day, you’ll feel Him reaching out to you.

I’ve said it before and will never stop saying it.  You cannot go before the Lord each day without “getting clean.”  Living in this world means we’re bound to get a little dirty. If anyone goes too long without cleaning themselves, they begin to smell.  Even if they appear to be clean on the outside, eventually the dirt collects until the stench of a foul odor appears.  The very same thing happens to everyone on a spiritual level.  The problem is nobody can smell their own stench.

The Lord will give you a spiritual shower every day if you go to Him.  His Spirit washes you every day leaving you feeling refreshed and energized.  In this state, his love, peace, comfort, and joy can live within you.  You can feel His Presence inwardly every day.

Also, remember the Lord is your friend, brother, mother, father, and teacher.  He’s compassionate and understanding of your circumstances.  While he does disapprove of sinful lives, he does not condemn the sinner or the one who comes to Him each day asking for forgiveness and help.  He understands why you are the way you are.  He knows the world has been cruel and unfair.  He knows you’ve been made to feel as if your problems are entirely your fault.  Even if this is true, He will help you come overcome and live the life God desires for you.

The one who comes asking for help daily will soon realize many of the sins that use to tempt have lost all power.  When you go to the Lord each day with a repentant heart, He washes away iniquity and replenishes the soul.  You come out of prayer each day feeling clean, fresh, and anew.  This experience can be and should be had every day.

Once you have received your own daily dose of the Lord and have been washed clean, you are then fit to begin praying for others.  This is when the Lord really starts “showing off” and allowing you to see the true power of prayer.

The prayer below is an example of how one can pray each day and/or night when desiring to keep a personal connection to the Lord.  This prayer will help keep you in His Presence as you read the scriptures and seek answers, but remember, true growth and power in prayer comes from praying for others.

Father God,

In the name of Jesus, I come to you as your humble servant asking for forgiveness of sins. I ask you forgive me of all sins that I’ve committed this day in thought, word, and deed. I ask that you show me the error of my ways and give me more strength and will power to overcome. I love you Father and I thank you for forgiving my sins.  Thank you for sending your Son to minister the Spirit of Forgiveness to me.

In the name of Jesus, I am cleansed of all iniquity and made anew.  Father, In Jesus’ name I call forth your Holy Spirit to fill me through and through.  I am filled with more of your Love, wisdom, and discernment.   I am filled with your Holy Spirit from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet.  Father, thank you for your Love and mercy.

Lord Jesus, thank you for being my Lord and Saviour.  Lord I ask you fill me more and more each day with your presence.  I ask you allow me to better hear your voice each day. I ask you bring your Words to my remembrance as I go about my daily activities.  Thank you for being with me each day and guiding me according to your word.  Because of you, every day and every way I am getting better and better through Christ which strengthens me.

I love you Father… I love you Lord… always.

In Jesus’ name I pray.

AMEN

The Lord came down to not only show us how to walk in the love and power of God, but also offered himself to be our Master, Saviour, Teacher, Guide, and Brother. He continues to allow his followers to experience his presence within. He guides them from within. When you KNOW you have help and can call on the name of Jesus your Lord, who continues to fulfill his promise to guide us in the proper ways to walk in harmony with God’s will… He does EXACTLY that.

When walking in Christ you don’t have to feel alone anymore; you don’t have to feel shame and guilt anymore. You don’t have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders anymore. When walking in Christ, you don’t have to be victim to those vices that have for so long held you down anymore.

His promises were not shallow words. The Holy Spirit of God lives in the Lord Jesus. When Jesus is your Saviour, that same spirit is showered down upon you and enters you. You can breathe in that spirit and have it live within you. If you don’t know, how can you call it in (in the name of Jesus) to wash and clean your soul? Our souls need to be refreshed by the spirit of God just as much as our physical bodies need baths and showers. That’s how we keep spiritually clean. It’s needed if you expect to keep on the full armor of God.

God fills our voids through this same spirit. If you’re in need of comfort, insight, wisdom or understanding, this is the same spirit that brings it to you. A person can say they know their sins are forgiven, but still continue to feel the weight of those sins if they don’t allow the spirit of forgiveness to enter them. The Holy Spirit is also that same spirit, the Spirit of Forgiveness. With it, we are also better able to forgive others.

When that spirit lives in you, the same spirit of God that lived in the man Jesus now lives in you. This is the reason a person can use His name with love and power to overcome anything and come to maturity to help others do the same.

To Walk in Christ, a person has to know they need help. They have to know they cannot do it all alone. They cannot be all they are meant to be without some help. Knowing this keeps them humble and reminds them that they can and should go to the Lord for all their answers and needs. They have to know who they are and that they have access to the Lords presence.

They also have to acknowledge the errors of their ways, whatever they may be. If you ask Father God for forgiveness of your sins (in thought, words, and deeds) with a genuinely repentant (apologetic :( ) heart, while at the same time, truly desiring to change, you will then be in proper mindset and spirit to receive the Holy Spirit within.

While there’s no such thing as there being “only one way to pray,” the prayer below is an example of a prayer someone prayed when they receive God, His Spirit, and Jesus into their life:

“Father God, I come to you asking for forgiveness of my sins. I thank you for your love and forgiveness. I thank you for being love and always being there regardless of my actions. I thank you for sending the Lord Jesus to be my Saviour. Lord Jesus, thank you for being Lord and coming down to show us the way. Thank you for giving us the power to ask our Father for things in your name and on your behalf. I’m asking that you, Lord Jesus, be my Lord and Saviour. Please come into my life Lord and make me whole. I am open to receive your Spirit and your guidance now. Thank you Lord for your love, patience, grace, understanding, and compassion. I will love you always for loving me so dearly. I love you Lord.

Father God, in the name of Jesus I ask that you fill me with your Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus I receive your Holy Spirit. I breath in your Holy Spirit with every breath I take. In the name of Jesus, Father God, I receive your spirit of Love, truth, insight, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus I receive your spirit of patience, understanding, and forgiveness. Thank you Father for sending me your spirit. Thank you for having that spirit now live in me. Thank you Father God for all that you have done, are doing and shall do! I love you forever more. Amen”

Once this new relationship has started, life begins anew. There’s a new sense of love, joy, and purpose. This is when we then find the scriptures to be full of comfort, guidance, and peace. This is because the Lord can minister to our hearts and souls through the scriptures. The messages within every page become personal and you can hear the Lord ministering to your spirit within while reading. You’ll be able to open up any page of the bible and know it wasn’t coincidence you landed on that specific page. :)
